3DXplorer® API APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACE.

3DX/API enables software developers, Independent Software Vendors, and partners to integrate 3DXplorer into their own solutions, or to extend 3DXplorer features by developing applications on top of the 3DXplorer platform or by adding new features . It provides a set of functions which enable communication between the 3DXplorer 3D engine and an external program in both directions (in/out).

The API functions can be grouped under 3 categories:

Web page communication

Allows any 3D scene to communicate with the web page in which it's embedded, in 2 directions
It's a set of Java classes that can be used directly from a script in the HTML page (JavaScript)
The events coming from 3DXplorer can also be handled by JavaScript functions

Object behavior programming

Allows advanced objects behaviors programming in the 3D scene: it’s object scripting.
It's a set of Java classes that can be used directly within 3D objects, inside the interactive studio
JavaScript is also used

Database communication

Allows a user to externally create accounts,projects and avatars in 3DXplorer
Used to automate the creation of accounts in 3DXplorer
It's a set of PHP scripts that may be called from within a third part web site.
For example, if the web site is a social networking platform, 3DXplorer scenes can be silently created with each user account
